Virginia doesn't hand patients a list of approved conditions to match. A CCA-registered physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner makes that call themselves, based on your health history and a live video evaluation — Virginia law specifically requires real-time audiovisual telemedicine, not a phone call. If approved, you walk away with a written certification valid for a year. That document plus a government-issued ID is enough to buy at any licensed Virginia dispensary that same day; the CCA's $50 patient card is available afterward for anyone who wants it, but it's never required to purchase.
